A small radius stoned on the point (about .02") should provide for a decent finish. Stone the side, end, and top of the tool (in the chip breaker). Much easier to grind than to describe. WebJan 31, 2024 · With that being said the reason the screws were failing is because SIG is using the DPP footprint (the largest lengthwise) and just adding the RMR screw locations. So when you add the RMR to the DPP cut without a filler plate the screws are taking 100% of the shear forces. The 6-40 screws stand a good chance of shearing as well over time.
